Meet the SWALK resident artists

Megan Price - Founder of SWALK

I love tiny things! Tiny illustrations and miniature portraits are my favourite things to create. Each morning I used to do a warm up painting of my breakfast which turned into a mini painted pastry range which I love.

I’m really passionate about the environment - all my products are eco-friendly and my latest cards are plantable too! I’m a keen gardener and that creeps into my work in lots of ways.

I’m also a total stationery addict, so currently building on my range of eco-friendly notelets, pencils and washi tape!

I love being surrounded by lots of incredible artwork when I’m in the shop at Afflecks, it’s super inspiring and a genuinely lovely bunch of artists to be around. Come say hi!

Nasha Cash

Nasha brings psychedelic and trippy art to the corner of SWALK.

Featuring mini mushroom folk and a series of grumpy frogs, these prints are colourful and characterful.

Chelsea Waites

Hello!

I'm a freelance illustrator based in Manchester who enjoys drawing fun figures and mundane topics while using humour. I mainly work digitally but I sometimes use material such as clay and rug tufting.

I am graduate of Manchester School of Art graduating with a first in BA (Hons) in illustration with animation.

Sharp Txngue

Olamide Florence (or Flo) aka Sharp Txngue is a queer, neurodivergent Black illustrator based in Manchester, UK!

She is particularly inspired by the fantasy and imagination of cartoons, TV and film! She fuses these ideas with themes in her life like queer love, relationships, food and celebration!

She turns this creative fuel into illustrative art prints (A6-A4), vinyl stickers, sticker sheets, zines and painted originals.

Dave Draws

Dave Draws is a freelance illustrator, mural artist and serial map doodler originally from Chesterfield but living in Manchester.

Dave works from AWOL Studios, Ancoats, but has traveled across Europe, Hong Kong and the US for his large scale wall murals.

Dave’s trademark is his doodle maps which combine his unique doodle style with cartoonish illustrations creating a map of places using only his trusted Posca pens.

Emily Paints

Hello I'm Emily Paints, a Cornish artist living in Manchester where I studied Fine Art at university.

I'm mostly known for my watercolour illustrations and gouache paintings.

My biggest inspiration is the area where I live and I love to draw shop fronts / cafes / street views.

Hana Rubi

Unusual, bold, affordable art, prints and ceramic works.

With a practice largely focused on womanhood, with a feminist outlook, and a love of bold design, I play with line, shape, colour and pattern, whilst attempting to unpick the physicality of people, paying consideration to how we read faces, beauty, mood, gender, etc.

This often results in rather androgynous-looking abstract portraits, which are both delicate and striking and also have an almost regal intensity.

Bee Mancunian

Thomas Brown started the @BeeMancunian project in 2015 in order to reflect the cultural heritage of Manchester through its civic symbol the worker bee.

He works across a variety of mediums and draws inspiration from the culture and environment of his home town, Manchester, and its legendary bee icon!

Cerv Artist

Hey, my name is Christina aka CERV Art. I’m an artist, illustrator and two-time Art Battle Manchester finalist.

I mainly use pencils, pens and paint, however, I don’t mind dipping my tootsies into some digital art too!

Portraits are my thing but I also like to put a little bit of tattoo-inspired weirdness in my art as well.

If you want to ask me more about inspiration, pop into SWALK for a chat.
